Aerolon fluid applied thermal break from Tnemec Company, Inc helps to provide a cost effective thermal break detail for Sheetz Corporation stunning new corporate headquarters.
When designing the Sheetz Corporation’s new company headquarters in Claysburg, PA, the Architects bold design with protruding companies captured the company’s dynamic personality and created more working space for the growing organization. The canopies and roof overhang were constructed using continuous wide flange structural steel. While effective in supporting the necessary structural load, the continuous steel sections created a thermal bridge concern at each location where steel penetrated the buildings thermal envelope. In lieu of specifying costly structural thermal breaks, the Architect contacted Atlantic Coating Consultants to help specify Tnemec Aerolon as a cost-effective fluid applied thermal break detail. Tnemec Series 394 Perimeprime was used to field prime each thermal break location. Tnemec Series 971 Aerolon was then applied in two coats for a total system thickness of 80-100 mils DFT. The project team was thrilled with cost savings and ease of application for the field applied fluid applied thermal break detail.
