Manufacturing Facility Resinous Flooring With Some Flair

This manufacturing facility needed an upgrade to its resinous flooring but also wanted an impressive new look. They got just what they wanted via a Tnemec StrataShield system from DCR.

This project was yet another home run from the Decorative Concrete Resurfacing (DCR) team located in High Point, NC. DCR partnered with Tnemec to provide resinous flooring installation services for a new construction manufacturing facility in Western North Carolina. Each floor was mechanically prepared in accordance with SSPC SP-13/NA CE No. 6 Surface Preparation of concrete and then coated with two separate coatings systems. The first was a thin film system that consisted of two pigmented epoxy coats at approximately 20 dry mils (Tnemec Series 237 Power-Tread) followed by a clear high solids polyurethane topcoat at 2-3 dry mils (Tnemec Series 248 Everthane). The second system was a flake broadcast system utilizing Tnemec's multi-purpose clear non-yellowing epoxy (Tnemec Series 222 Deco-Tread) with a high solids polyurethane (Tnemec Series 248 Everthane) in a multi-coat system to provide a 1/8 coatings system installed. The functional results are robust industrial resinous floors that will perform for years to come for this facility, but with the aesthetic appeal of any high-end architectural finish.
